Searching for that perfect tree.
Cute little bear.

Brooklyn and Tricia out for the count!
Such a big girl!
Loved the carousel.
She's a natural!
So excited.

Well, we made it back from sunny California. We flew home on Monday night, and got into freezing Denver at 11:30 PM. I have been trying to get Brooklyn back on schedule, it has been tough with her cold. : ) We had the best time on vacation. We flew into Oakland on Monday, Nov. 19 and got to our hotel in San Francisco (right next to Chinatown) at about 12:30 AM. The next morning we were up early for a day of shopping at H & M, which I loved, and sightseeing. We had the BEST weather, so sunny and beautiful. We visitited AT & T park right on the bay. We went to Fisherman's Wharf at Pier 39, and Brooklyn loved the sea lions, and the carousel. She was laughing so hard every time her horse would start going up, that was the highlight of my day. We had lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company at the Wharf. We took at Bay Cruise and saw Alcatraz, the Golden Gate, and Angel Island. Ben would not let me stand up with Brooklyn on the boat, he was real nervous. Too cute. After a day full of adventure, we went back to our hotel and crashed. The next day, we hit up another H & M (this time they had baby clothes) and rode the cable cars all around town. We visited Ghiradelli Square, and more of the Wharf. Then we decided we should head to Chico. We were in a major traffic jam, we only moved 3 blocks in an hour and a half! Crazy!!! After stopping for dinner at the Olive Garden, we made it to Chico at 9:30. We had a great stay and visit with family. Thanksgiving was so yummy, and we all went around the table and said what we were thankful for. Brooklyn had a great time with the other kids, Gavin, Leah, and baby Jack. So cute. On Friday, we went and cut down some Christmas trees, and had chili and hot chocolate up in the mountains. The rest of our time was spent touring Chico, and visiting with family. We had such a great time and can't wait to see all of you again soon!!! Thanks for all of the fun.

We're Off . . .

Well everyone, we are off in a half hour for San Francisco. Ben's grandparents live in Chico, and so we decided to go a few days early and spend some time in San Fran before heading up to Chico. I am a little nervous about flying with Brooklyn again, but at least this time, I will have some help, Ben's parents are coming with us. So, I will not be blogging for about a week - but I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

New Neighbors . . .

We were taking a drive this past Saturday around where some of our ward lives, about 5 minutes from our house - and what did we find? Three huge bull elk just hanging out on the golf course, and tons of deer. I told Ben that is why we can't move there, because I would be so paranoid about hitting one of those, it really scares me. : )

Our blue eyed babe . . .

These pictures are just so cute, and look at those eyes!!! I always wanted a blonde-haired, blue eyed girl, and finally I have her. So cute!

Hungry girl . . .

Loving carrots!!!
All done and so happy!
Not sure what to do with the fruit puffs!
Drinking some water with help from Aunt Sarah.

Brooklyn is eating solids now, and she loves them!!! We have tried carrots and applesauce so far, and green beans and bananas are next. She gets so excited when we put her bib on her too! Oh, and her latest trick: drinking from a straw. While we were at dinner at Texas Roadhouse, she got a hold of my straw and was "drinking" the water from my cup. She still needs some practice, because when she gets too much - she doesn't know what to do with it, and just spits it all over. Such a funny girl!!!

Brooklyn and Elmo

Brooklyn and Elmo
She's getting him.
Not sure what to think.
Me and Elmo last Christmas

Last year for Christmas, Ben bought me and Brooklyn (before she was born), and Tickle Me Elmo Extreme. We brought him out for Brooklyn to play with the other night, and she just wasn't sure what to do with it. She just kept touching it, and looking up at us. We love Elmo, at least we get a kick out of him now, Brooklyn will one day too.

First Tooth!!!

Loving Bathtime!!!
Can you see the little tooth?

Brooklyn has her first tooth! It first showed up about 3 weeks ago, and now it is finally through. She was not a happy camper with teething, so I am dreading more of them. Her favorite thing to chew on is the wash cloth in the tub, it must feel good on her gums. : )

6 Month Checkup . . .

I took Brooklyn to the doctor today for her 6 month checkup. She has started to thin out. : ) She weighs 17 lbs. and 6 oz. she has only gained 3 oz. since her 4 month checkup, but she is still in the 75 percentile. She is 27 1/2 inches long, and that is in the 92 percentile. The doc said we could start solids - so that means fun with fruits and veggies, and even a little juice! : ) She's a healthy little girl with an even healthier appetite! : )

Just for fun . . .

Messy eater . . .
Notice it is in the hair too!
She fell asleep while I was rubbing her feet. :)

Here are some cute pictures of Brooklyn eating, which she loves to do, and a funny sleeping position. We go to the doctor on Monday for Brooklyn's 6 month appointment, so hopefully that means we can start veggies and fruit and maybe even a little juice. : )

Keeping Brooklyn entertained - it's a full time job!!!

Lately, Brooklyn has become very impatient, she always wants to be entertained or to be held, which makes it really hard to get anything done during the day. This is what I came up with the other day to keep her busy while I finished getting ready. She is going to be a mess when she starts crawling! : )
Notice the spool of ribbon - she loved that!
Not a happy camper - tired of waiting for mommy!

Another day, I tried to entertain Brooklyn by building card houses for her - hey, we are trying anything these days. : ) She just wanted to eat the cards, but, I did get some cute pics of her "playing" a little Go Fish with me. : )
She's a natural!!!
