Grass

Last Saturday was beautiful (almost 80), so we took Brooklyn out to sit on the grass for the first time. She was not a fan! She just sat there as still as could be and then started whining for me to pick her up. She was much happier on her blanket. Funny girl!!!

The amazing transformation . . .

Our little girl has WILD hair, especially first thing in the morning, she has a natural faux hawk. I love doing her hair everyday, and love trying new things. Isn't hair spray wonderful?! : )

TROUBLE!!!

As I mentioned in a previous post, Brooklyn is everywhere and into everything. Here are just a few of her latest adventures . . .

Okay, so she's really not into trouble here, but her jumper is her new jungle gym, and she just looks so cute in her Nike 'cheer' outfit. : )
I was cleaning the bathroom, and had distracted Brooklyn with some toys on the floor, I looked over, and this is how I found her: sitting inside the cupboard. Crazy girl!

4 years ago today . . .

It has been exactly four years today since our first date. It was April 21, 2004, a Friday, and I was working at the library on campus. Ben came up to visit with me and Julie (we had known each other for four years), and asked me if I wanted to 'hang out' that night?! What does that mean?! He later said he was just 'playing it cool.' : ) We ended up going to Idaho Falls for dinner at Chili's and then to see 'The Alamo' after that. It was the first time that we held hands. : ) After that night, we were inseparable. We went out every night, even went snowmobiling, and I met Ben's family when they came for his graduation. Ben was graduating the next Saturday, and after that he decided to stay in Idaho Falls to be with me. The rest is history, we were engaged less than a month later, and married three months after that. Oh, the memories. Happy 1st date anniversary Ben! : )

11 months old today!!!

Wow, how time flies, Brooklyn is 11 months old today! One more month and she will be a year, how crazy is that?! It seems just like yesterday at this time last year when I was begging Ben to go on walks with me, go get Mexican food every night (both to try and get labor going), and I would insist on taking my suitcase with me to every doctor's appointment because I was sure that they were going to send me straight to the hospital because Brooklyn was coming early (she wasn't due until May 1. ) Happy 11 months little miss Brooklyn!

Friday Flashback!!!

I thought I would try something on the blog that I have seen others doing, adding old pics on a certain day as a way of reminiscing. Welcome to the first installment of Ben and Jill's Friday Flashback! : )

I decided to show Ben and I in our 'early years.' Who do you think little miss Brooklyn looks more like?

Me?

Or Ben?

The new do!!!

Well, the days of headbands are long gone, and little Brooklyn's hair is long enough on the top for a new do. It is really cute, and she just looks so grown up. And, Grandma Watts even put her hair in pig tails the other day, it was pretty funny. I will post some pics of that soon. Wow, how the time flies, she is almost 11 months! Crazy.

Loving Lena!

I have a Cabbage Patch Kid from when I was about 3 years old, named Lena Daisy. After Ben and I got married, he cleaned her all up for me, and bought her a new outfit. Well, Brooklyn saw her up in our closet the other day and started 'screaming' until I got her down. She LOVES her, she wants nothing to do with her cute, new Cabbage Patch Tricia (maybe that will change), but is always holding and kissing Lena. I will say to her, "Where's Lena?" and she will go and get her and give her big, slobbery kisses. She even takes naps with Lena and just holds her, it really is so cute. Here are some pics of the two new best friends. : )

Mobility = SCARY!!!

Well, having a baby who is mobile now has its ups and downs. She can get places on her own, and I don't have to carry her around all of the time, but now she is into EVERYTHING!!! She is standing up to everything, and testing her balancing skills, which makes me really nervous. I look over and she is doing to craziest things. Sometimes, I miss that tiny baby who would just lay in your arms and not move around, but I love how Brooklyn is growing and learning and her little personality is just shining through. : ) Ben and I might have our work cut out for us . . .

TA DA!
Always bonking her head on things.
Found the door stoppers the other day, and the toilet paper yesterday.
Loves to help me with the laundry.
Rolling underneath the bed.

Visit from Idaho

I guess this is old news, but last week, my parents decided to take a break from the snow and came to visit us. Brooklyn had a great time with them, and warmed up pretty fast. She was a wild woman at night, and my mom and dad couldn't believe how crazy she was. : ) We had a great time shopping, eating, visiting, and playing with Lou-Lou. Brooklyn ended up with all sorts of toys and clothes (for her upcoming birthday). Thanks Mom and Dad for driving to visit us, we had a great time, and we miss you!!! I didn't take that many pictures, so bad of me, but my mom did, maybe she will e-mail them and I can post them. : )

Saturday, March 29, was Ben's 29th birthday! We celebrated by going to the car show Friday night, the spa Saturday morning (Ben got a massage, I got a facial) and going to dinner at Texas Roadhouse with the fam on Saturday night, followed by cake (lemon cake with lemon icing and sprinkles requested by Ben) and ice cream on Sunday. Ben is 29, it seems like only yesterday that he was 21 and fresh off of his mission when I met him at BYU-Idaho. : ) Where do the years go?

Denver Auto Show

We decided, well Ben decided, to hit up the Denver Auto Show for his birthday. He goes every year with his Dad, and I have only been one other time. This year, we went with Donald, and Ryan and Sarah. It is a car lovers dream, I guess that's why Ben loves it so much. Me, I just like to pick up all of the free stuff. : )
