Just for fun . . .

I just had to post these cute pics of Brooklyn, she is just so darn cute. Lately, she has been a real riot in the tub, she loves it, and gets so excited when we start getting her ready for her bath.

Update on Brooklyn

Playing in the playroom!
Giving hugs to Daddy before . . .
After - with her IV!
Sad huh?
Looks pretty good . . .

Well, the surgery is over, and we are so relieved!!! Brooklyn did great, and her ear looks really good. We got to Children's Hospital at 6 AM on Tuesday morning, checked in and met with so many nurses, anesthesiologists, and doctors, that it was crazy. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Brooklyn hadn't eaten since 3 AM, so she was getting a little hungry by about 7. We took her to the playroom and she loved that. Then at about 7:50 they came and got her and took her back to surgery. They gave her anesthesia through a mask, and an IV to keep her hydrated. It took a half hour, and they told us they would call us back so we could be there when she woke up. She must have woke up super fast because she was already wide awake when we got back there, just checking things out. All of the nurses wanted to take her home, I can't say I blame them. : ) She was an angel. We waited for about 45 minutes, and then we were on our way home. We were home by 10:30, not too bad! Yesterday Brooklyn was fine, she took some nice long naps and was just as happy as she could be. We are so glad to have it over with, and so relieved that everything went well. And, she just looked adorable in the little hospital gown.

Brooklyn's Surgery

Well, the time has come that we have been putting off: Brooklyn's surgery. Brooklyn was born with a little skin tag on her right ear, and we decided to have it removed. We took her in at 3 months to Children's Hospital to have an evaluation - and found out that they have to put her out to do it. We have been holding off because of that, it is so scary for me to think about. But, our insurance is changing the first of the year, and so we decided to do it now. We go in tomorrow morning at 6 AM, meet with the anesthesiologist and the specialist again, and then at 8 AM, the surgery begins. It is supposed to take a half hour, and then there is a 1 - 3 hour recovery time. I am so scared for this, but I know that she will be in the best hands at Children's Hospital. And, when it is all said and done, no more skin tag, which I know she will be thankful for one day. I will post some pics after the surgery. Here is Brooklyn now:

WISH US LUCK - I THINK I WILL NEED IT MORE THAN BROOKLYN!!!

Trip to California

Brooklyn trying out the walker.
Searching for that perfect tree.
Cute little bear.
Happy baby girl!
Brooklyn and Tricia out for the count!
Such a big girl!
Loved the carousel.
She's a natural!
So excited.

Well, we made it back from sunny California. We flew home on Monday night, and got into freezing Denver at 11:30 PM. I have been trying to get Brooklyn back on schedule, it has been tough with her cold. : ) We had the best time on vacation. We flew into Oakland on Monday, Nov. 19 and got to our hotel in San Francisco (right next to Chinatown) at about 12:30 AM. The next morning we were up early for a day of shopping at H & M, which I loved, and sightseeing. We had the BEST weather, so sunny and beautiful. We visitited AT & T park right on the bay. We went to Fisherman's Wharf at Pier 39, and Brooklyn loved the sea lions, and the carousel. She was laughing so hard every time her horse would start going up, that was the highlight of my day. We had lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company at the Wharf. We took at Bay Cruise and saw Alcatraz, the Golden Gate, and Angel Island. Ben would not let me stand up with Brooklyn on the boat, he was real nervous. Too cute. After a day full of adventure, we went back to our hotel and crashed. The next day, we hit up another H & M (this time they had baby clothes) and rode the cable cars all around town. We visited Ghiradelli Square, and more of the Wharf. Then we decided we should head to Chico. We were in a major traffic jam, we only moved 3 blocks in an hour and a half! Crazy!!! After stopping for dinner at the Olive Garden, we made it to Chico at 9:30. We had a great stay and visit with family. Thanksgiving was so yummy, and we all went around the table and said what we were thankful for. Brooklyn had a great time with the other kids, Gavin, Leah, and baby Jack. So cute. On Friday, we went and cut down some Christmas trees, and had chili and hot chocolate up in the mountains. The rest of our time was spent touring Chico, and visiting with family. We had such a great time and can't wait to see all of you again soon!!! Thanks for all of the fun.

We're Off . . .

Well everyone, we are off in a half hour for San Francisco. Ben's grandparents live in Chico, and so we decided to go a few days early and spend some time in San Fran before heading up to Chico. I am a little nervous about flying with Brooklyn again, but at least this time, I will have some help, Ben's parents are coming with us. So, I will not be blogging for about a week - but I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

New Neighbors . . .

We were taking a drive this past Saturday around where some of our ward lives, about 5 minutes from our house - and what did we find? Three huge bull elk just hanging out on the golf course, and tons of deer. I told Ben that is why we can't move there, because I would be so paranoid about hitting one of those, it really scares me. : )
