Saturday, March 29, was Ben's 29th birthday! We celebrated by going to the car show Friday night, the spa Saturday morning (Ben got a massage, I got a facial) and going to dinner at Texas Roadhouse with the fam on Saturday night, followed by cake (lemon cake with lemon icing and sprinkles requested by Ben) and ice cream on Sunday. Ben is 29, it seems like only yesterday that he was 21 and fresh off of his mission when I met him at BYU-Idaho. : ) Where do the years go?

Denver Auto Show

We decided, well Ben decided, to hit up the Denver Auto Show for his birthday. He goes every year with his Dad, and I have only been one other time. This year, we went with Donald, and Ryan and Sarah. It is a car lovers dream, I guess that's why Ben loves it so much. Me, I just like to pick up all of the free stuff. : )

The Easter Bunny

Well, the Easter Bunny made it to see Brooklyn. Ben and I were so excited to see Brooklyn's reaction to her Easter basket, but she really didn't care. We had to leave a trail to get her to crawl to it! But, she sure is one cute little bunny!

It has finally happened, Brooklyn is crawling. She started with a few steps last week, and last Friday night we practiced her hard, and she is really moving now. She still has to be pretty motivated to want something though (like Easter eggs or rings) but she is moving!!! Watch out, she is going to be everywhere!!! Thanks to Uncle Ryan for videoing while she was visiting Grandpa and Grandma!

Seattle Trip

Well, we made it back home from Seattle. We had a great trip, it was so nice to get away from the everyday routine and change things up a little. We flew out Sunday morning at 7:45, left the snow behind, and arrived in Seattle at 9:30. It was such a nice flight, and only had 30 people on it. Brooklyn was as active as ever, but she is such a pro flyer now, so she was fine. Since we couldn't check into the hotel until 3, we headed out in our sweet Grand Prix and we decided to hit up the Pike Place Market. It was fun to see all of the cool things for sale and fun food, and see the fish stands, they really do throw fish all around, kind of crazy. After dealing with the crowds there, we took a nice drive over to Alki Beach, which had an awesome view of the Seattle skyline and the beautiful Puget Sound. Then, we started to get tired, from waking up at 4:30 AM, and decided to drive to our hotel and check in to crash for a nap. We stayed at the Westin Seattle, which was seriously right downtown. We had an awesome view of the Space Needle out our window. So, we all took naps. Ben had to go check in to his conference, so Brooklyn and I just chilled at the hotel.

Onto Monday: Ben left early for his SharePoint conference where Bill Gates was the keynote speaker, pretty cool. Brooklyn and I put on our coats, loaded up in the stroller and headed out for some shopping in the Seattle rain. It was so nice to be able to walk everywhere. We hit up American Eagle and Baby Gap (which both were huge, it was a dream come true) and then grabbed some lunch before heading back to the hotel for a nap. Monday night we went out to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner, and it was delicious.

Tuesday, Ben was excited to go to his conference again, and Brooklyn and I hit up Old Navy, Abercrombie, Roxy, Macy's and the mall. That night, we went to the Space Needle to watch the sunset, it was beautiful, and then went to dinner at Fox Sports Grill. Wednesday, Brooklyn and I went to Ross and saw our first drag queen, it was a pretty exciting day. : ) Then that night, we met up with Brandon Grisham (who is one of Ben's friends from college, and was our "counselor" while we were dating) and Tim Flint (who is one of Brandon's friends, but is actually from Idaho Falls, and our families are best friends so we grew up together.) We went to P.F. Chang's and it was so fun to visit with them and catch up on old times, I told Ben it was dinner with four of my favorite people ever. : )

Thursday while Ben attended the last sessions of his conference, Brooklyn and I got all packed up. When Ben got back, we went down to Pier 57 to go to the Seattle Aquarium, and we couldn't leave the pier without Brooklyn riding the carousel. This one was super fast though, and Brooklyn had a wild horse, but she loved it as usual. She had her feet propped up, was talking, and blowing spit bubbles, just having a grand old time. After that, we drove around for awhile, and what do you know? we stumbled upon a Taco Time (which we love), but it was not the same as our good old Idaho Taco Times', not even the same menu, and no stuffed mexi fries, and my bean burrito had FAT FREE beans, YUCKY!!! Those Washington people just don't know what they are missing. Then we were off the airport, we flew out at 7:45 and got in at 11:20, only 50 people this time, so nice. And, you would think that little miss B would sleep. nope wide awake wanting to play. Oh well, she slept good once we got home at 1:00 AM. All in all, it was such a fun trip and so fun just to get away.

Seattle: here we come!!!

Well, tomorrow morning (early) we are off to Seattle. Ben is attending a Microsoft convention for work, and so Brooklyn and I are tagging along for the ride. It will be so fun to see the sights, eat some yummy food, and hit up some new malls. I will be sure and post all of our fun pics when we get back!
