1. Slept in her bed every night all by herself. Note: her room is across the house from ours and since she was a baby, she had been sleeping with us! This is a HUGE accomplishment!
2. Went to nursery on Sunday all by herself and did not cry. We haven't been to church since London was born to avoid illness, and so it has been about 7 weeks since she has been to nursery. She was just getting used to it before London, and so we were worried we were going to start all over again. She showed me! She did great, and she keeps asking me if it's Sunday so we can go to her class again. : )
3. Let me cut her fingernails and toenails WHILE SHE WAS AWAKE!!! I have attempted this before and she screamed, so I usually cut them while she is sleeping. She let me do it this time, and even told me, "That tickles me Mommy!"
4. Agreed to have her haircut by a professional (i.e. NOT ME). We have also attempted this before, and after a half hour of her screaming, crying, and wrestling me, I gave up. I have trimmed her hair since, but it is time for a real haircut. She has promised she will get one before Sarah's wedding! Yay!!!
Some funny sayings of Brooklyn:
- After I got out of the bath one night, I had my hair in a pony tail. She came and looked at my hair and said, "What did you turn into Mommy? A pony?"
- Her balloon from Red Robin deflated and she told me, "Mommy, Daddy needs to give it some new batteries."
- I asked her what she dreamed about last night and she told me, "Princes and princesses and true loves' kiss." (I think we are in trouble.)
- She loves to go to Smith's with me to grocery shop. She loves all of the checkers and bag boys, and knows them by name. As we are checking out one night, she asked the checker, "Do you know where my friend Colter is?" : )
We love our little Miss Brooklyn!!! She is so much fun and is growing up so much. Next up on my list: potty training, after our road trip to Denver of course. : ) Yay for Brooklyn!!!
