1 Year Checkup

Yesterday, I took little Miss B. in for her 1 year checkup. It was not a good time, Brooklyn started screaming right when the nurse came in, and didn't stop until we were walking out of the doctor's office. Poor little thing, she has major stranger anxiety, and on top of it, she got 4 shots yesterday. One funny thing though, as the doctor was walking out he told me, "Good luck, I can see you have a very strong-willed little girl there." Kind of funny. : ) Our little lady is growing just fine, her statistics are:

Height: 30 inches (75 percentile)
Weight: 22 lbs. 2 1/2 oz. (75 percentile)
Teeth: 8!!!

Brooklyn is so much fun, and although sometimes she can be a challenge with her "strong will" she is such a joy in our lives!!! We just love her so much!!!

Watch Out - We Have a Walker!!!

Brooklyn has been so close to walking now for about a month. In the last week, she has taken about 3 or 4 steps to the safety of the couch or other furniture. Well, last night, the day after her first birthday, she figured it out, and was walking all over the place!!! It is so fun to watch, she is still getting the hang of turning, and would sometimes turn when she wasn't planning on it, but it is just so stinkin' cute!!! Now, the level of baby proofing reaches new heights. What a big girl!!! Enjoy the video.

Brooklyn's Birthday . . .

Brooklyn and I celebrated her birthday yesterday by cleaning, decorating, playing, and sleeping in preparation for her birthday party. Ben's family came over last night to help us celebrate. We had an Elmo party, since Brooklyn LOVES Elmo. Brooklyn made out like a bandit with so many new toys, books, and bath toys! She loved all of her presents, but just wanted to hold her crayons. She is one lucky girl. The cake wasn't as exciting as I had imagined it being. I made her the cutest Elmo cake and stripped her down to her diaper, put her in her highchair, and was just going to let her go at it, she just pushed it away and started crying. Sad! We cut off a piece of it, and she just played with it, getting the icing everywhere. Then she wanted out, so into the bath she went. After that we had snow cones, and that seemed to cheer her up a bit. It was a fun party, but when the guest of honor is a little cranky, then it just isn't as fun. Hopefully, next year she will be more into it. Here are some pics from our little shindig.

Her two birthday cakes!
Happy Birthday Girl!
Opening presents.
Not too sure about the cake . . .

She has been such a blessing in our lives and everyday has been an adventure. She is such a sweet little lady with a fun (sometimes a little wild) personality. Friday Flashback Part 2

I decided for today's edition of Friday Flashback to post some pictures of Ben and I at college before we were dating. All of these are from our freshman year, so 2000 - 2001. My roommate Lindsay and I got a kick out of harassing Ben (or Watts, as we called him) and he was really nervous around us. I wonder why?!
