How sweet was this?!!!

I just finished watching the U.S. Men's Volleyball Team defeat Brazil for the Olympic Gold Medal!!! Seriously, how sweet was that win? After all that happened with the coach's family, and all those amazing games. Way to go team USA - especially #9 Ryan Millar - my favorite volleyball player and coach ever! You heard right, he was my coach for two summers in a row, he's amazing!

15 months!!!!

Yesterday, August 14, little Miss Brooklyn turned 15 months, and how did we celebrate? By taking her to the doctor for her 15 month checkup with shots and all. She liked the doctor better this time, until he tried to touch her. And, she does not like the nurse at all! I guess I wouldn't like someone who poked me in the leg 3 times either. : ) The doctor said, once again that Brooklyn is very "strong willed" and that "she checks out just great." Here are her 15 month stats:
Height: 32 3/4 inches = 97th percentile!!! She is going to be a tall one! She really had no chance with us as her parents, and let's just hope she gets lucky with her shoe size!!! : )
Weight: 24 lbs. 2 oz. = 73rd percentile!!! What can we say? We grow em' good!
Teeth = 10!!!
Yay for little Miss Brooklyn!!! She is getting to be quite the big girl. She signs "more" and "please" now. And she says, "ma," "dad," "buh-bye," (everyday when she wakes up she tells me: "Dad buh bye" and waves) "dog," "orse"(horse), "uice"(juice), "gone," "ry ry" (Ryan- she loves Uncle Ryan) "ba" (bottle), "meh"(the infamous ELMO), "rah"(rock), and "bay"(baby).
Happy with Elmo after the doctor left.

Crazy Girl!!!

Last night we were having strawberry-lime drinks, and of course Brooklyn was helping us finish them off. When it was gone, we told her "all gone." Then this craziness started:

ESTES PARK, CO!!!

Last weekend, as part of our anniversary celebration, we decided to get away to Estes Park, Colorado. It is about an hour and a half from here, and is right on the edge of Rocky Mountain National Park. We left Friday morning, stopped at the Loveland Outlet Mall (I love the Polo Outlet for Brooklyn) and then arrived at Estes Park. We stayed at these cabins on the Big Thompson River called Brynwood on the River, complete with black bears. There were let's just say - rustic. : ) It did have a private hot tub on the patio, which Brooklyn LOVED. We took naps, shopped, ate, rode the Aerial Tram, enjoyed the wildlife (elk and deer), and walked around Estes Park. It was nice to get away, but hard with Brooklyn because we didn't have everything that usually entertains her (aka ELMO) and she was a little cranky. Here are some pics of our visit.

Brooklyn and Dad checking out the hot tub.
Brooklyn LOVED it!
View of Long's Peak from the top of the tramway!
What a view!

4 Years!!!

Today, August 6th, is Ben and I's 4th anniversary!!! It is so crazy how time just flies by, it seems like only yesterday that we were waiting for our wedding day to finally come. Now look at us, four years later; two degrees, a successful career for Ben, one year of teaching for me, and a beautiful little girl that consumes the rest of our time. : ) What a great life. Happy Anniversary Babe!!! I love you so much!

ELMO Fanatic

As I have previously mentioned, Brooklyn LOVES Elmo. She loves Sesame Street in general, but especially Elmo. The first thing she says when she wakes up is "Meh," meaning Elmo. About a week ago, when she was over visiting Grandpa and Grandma and Uncle Ryan and Aunt Sarah, Uncle Ryan took her in on the computer to let her watch Elmo on YouTube. I bet he is regretting that now. : ) Whenever we are over there, she won't let anyone into the den unless they are going to let her watch "Meh." She even pushed Grandpa in there the other day. That is all she wants to do. Poor Ryan, he may never be able to get on the computer again. : ) Here are some funny pictures and video of them watching "Meh."
